Today marks the 16th anniversary of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, a tragic day that shook India and the world. On this day in 2008, ten Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists launched a series of coordinated attacks across Mumbai, targeting the Taj Hotel, Oberoi Trident Hotel, Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, Leopold Café, Mumbai Chabad House (Nariman House), Cama Hospital, and Metro Cinema.
These heinous acts claimed the lives of 166 individuals, including 20 security personnel and 26 foreigners, while leaving more than 300 people injured. The terrorists, who arrived in Mumbai via the sea route from Pakistan, unleashed a reign of terror that lasted over 60 hours.
As the nation pays tribute to the victims and salutes the heroes of that day, leaders from across the spectrum, including President of India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, have expressed solidarity with the families of the victims and acknowledged the bravery of those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
