Today, the Central government inaugurated the new Parliament building, an event that was met with mixed reactions. Additionally, several opposition leaders, including Supriya Sule and Asaduddin Owaisi, raised concerns about the ceremony, criticizing the lack of opposition presence during the launch.
During the inauguration, Prime Minister Modi unveiled the plaque to signify the opening of the new Parliament building. He performed a puja and placed the sacred ‘Sengol’ in the Lok Sabha chamber, next to the Speaker’s chair. The ‘Sengol’ was handed over to him by Adheenams, and the ceremony commenced with an early morning havan (fire ritual) and multi-faith prayers. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla was also present alongside PM Modi during the puja.
